Stawell Gift

The Stawell Gift has is an annual tradition dating back to 1878. Held over the easter weekend at Central Park in Stawell, it is the richest handicapped footrace in the world that attracts many famous athletes. While you’re here you can visit the Stawell Gift Hall of Fame to get a feel for the history of the event.

Grampians National Park

Covering 170,000 hectares, this is the fourth largest National Park in Victoria, and it is home to over 80% of Victoria’s Aboriginal rock art. Water Sports

The lakes of the Grampians haven’t looked this good for over a decade. Water skiing, knee-boarding and the exhilarating biscuit are a great way of get the blood pumping, though having a paddle in the kayak or canoe is a lovely way to view the lakes. For the fisherman trophy trout and thumping redfin offer quality fishing and look great dished up on the table.

There are many wonderful events throughout the year in the Grampians Region. The Grampians Grape Escape profiles the wonderful produce grown in the Grampians Region. Run the Gap and the Jailhouse Rock Festival are also major highlights on the events calendar.

Family Activities

There are many great family activities in the Grampians Region, from wonderful bushwalks, to mountain bike riding, fishing or eating an ice cream marvelling at the mountains around you. Other great activities include a hit of mini-golf at Grampians Adventure Golf or visiting Victoria’s largest regional Zoo, the Halls Gap Zoo.
